We are pleased and excited to include Henry Halem as one of our Master Glass Artisan lecturers. Henry brings a wealth of knowledge to the Master Glass Artisan Lecture SeriesTM as he has been working in glass since 1968.
After a 29 year teaching career at Kent State University, Henry retired in 1998 and now devotes himself to working full time in his studio. He is the author of "Glass Notes", a well respected and influential reference book for glass artists.
One of the founding members of the Glass Art Society, Henry also served as its first president. In 2008 he received the Society's prestigious, "Lifetime Achievement Award". This is one of many awards that has marked his glass career.
Henry's work can be found in major collections in both the private and public sector including the Smithsonian Institute, Corning Museum and the Museum of Decorative Arts in the Czech Republic.
