A flameworking demo by one of Joy Munshower’s fellow grad students opened the doorway into a world of sculpting bas-relief style beads. Many bead makers are more concerned with wearability, but the sculptor inside Munshower prefers a strong presence on a pedestal display. Utilizing the third dimension in her high bas-relief beads has evolved into a style all her own.
