Since 1959, the United Nations has designated International Years to draw attention to topics of global importance and to encourage international action. For the first time, a material was recognized during 2022 as the International Year of Glass. Members of the American Glass Guild were invited to work alongside members of other well-known glass art organizations to prepare their individual and collective glass events.
