Artist Paul Messink shares how photos of the Grand Mosque in Muscat, Oman, taken by Jon and Judith Liebman, collectors of his art, lead to a commission to create a twenty-layer glass sculpture of the mosque. Images for the design were printed as decals and applied to each layer of glass. To finish the design, the artist stacked the layers and fired them over a period of five days.
