Two tandem exhibitions, Local Color: Secrets of Steuben Glass and Local Color: Witnessing Carder in a New Hue, opened in the West Bridge of The Corning Museum of Glass during June 2023. Secrets of Steuben Glass showcased the early history of Steuben and illustrated the artistic and technical developments made under Frederick Carder’s leadership. Witnessing Carder in a New Hue researched Carder’s luminous glass color recipes and investigated his vision and mission for his glasswork.
