Boyce Lundstrom, one of three partners who founded Bullseye Glass Co., pursued his goal of making glass fusing accessible to the common person throughout his career as a glass artist. He offered instruction on glass fusing techniques at Camp Colton, his educational getaway, completed three books on new experimental processes, and introduced his technique for kiln fired Raku glass.

The Cosmic Space
A New Permanent Installation at Glasmuseet Ebeltoft

Photography by Gert Skoerlund Andersen and Hans Ringsmacher After Norwegian glass artist, Tróndur Patursson, spent 106 days on a bamboo raft from China to the United States, he translated this “cosmic” feeling into glass art. The New Carlsberg Foundation officially opened The Cosmic Space at Glasmusset Ebeltoft in Denmark. This spatial installation is made of mirrored floors and ceiling with walls built from stained glass.

The World’s Largest Vitri-Fusáille® Installation
New Work by Peter McGrain

Glass artist, Peter McGrain, recently completed a landmark commissioned masterwork at the Jewish Home of Rochester, New York. This shining example of integrated public art is made of bright and colorful glass murals created using McGrain’s Vitri-Fusáille technique, which combines ancient stained and painted glass techniques with modern fusing.

Mosaic Arts international at the Tacoma Museum of Glass

The Society of American Mosaic Artists (SAMA) is holding its annual juried show Mosaic Art International (MAI) through May 5, 2013. The show features the work of forty-six artists from seven countries. Celebrating the Creative Process of Rowan LeCompte

Peter LeCompte made his first stained glass window for the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., when he was only fourteen. Sixty-five years later, LeCompte collaborated with Dieter Goldkuhle to complete his final commission for the cathedral, the West rose window, in honor of the church’s centennial celebration.

American Glass Guild’s 2013 Conference

The American Glass Guild (AGG) will be holding its 2013 Conference May 16–18, 2013. AGG Senior Advisor Jean Jacques Duval will be the keynote speaker, and Jonathan Cooke will speak as well. Cooke will also teach a four-hour workshop in multiple layering of glass paint, an essential skill for effective glass painting. In addition, Jennifer Perry Thalheimer, curator of the Morse Museum of American Art, will give unique insights into the depth of the museum’s collection.
