Tim Carey expands the boundaries of traditional stained glass methods by merging them with fused glass techniques. After working with Judson Studios for fourteen years, Carey opened his own studio and has worked together with mentor Narcissus Quagliata to develop a process for designing fused glass images for use in architectural applications.

The silvery glass fruits that are used for decorating trees at Christmastime originated in Lauscha, Germany, and were mirrored internally with a lead and tin alloy. Over the years they became more ornate as enamels were used to decorate the surface and molds were used to produce a variety of objects.

The Naked Craft Project is an artist in residence program created by Nobuyasu Yoshida, glass artist and member of the Contemporary Glass Society. The 2019 recipient is Nina Casson McGarva, who was awarded a one-month residency in Kobe, Japan, to develop a body of work while experiencing life in Japan.
